LAND TOURS

Galaper “Island-Hopping Tours” are the best options if travellers don’t like to stay on board a ship for the entire journey. All the programs include accommodation in modern hotels on different islands and excursions to discover the fascinating archipelago´s wildlife, while heading out on speedboats each day for the exciting adventures.
Our “Island-Hopping Tours” are specially designed in order to allow young and senior travellers to enjoy the incredible experience of the Galapagos Islands being in contact to their unique wildlife. The visits combine snorkelling excursions, wildlife watching and hiking. You don´t need to be in super physical conditions for swimming in the sea or walking on the rough volcanic ground.
For daily excursions you can leave your luggage in the hotels and taking a small backpack is enough. On most of the time you will be accompanied by an experienced and bilingual naturalist guide, who will explain you about the excursions and activities included in your program.
Let yourself the opportunity to get amazing encounters with 150-year-old giant tortoises on Santa Cruz Island, or the endemic Santa Fe iguana, and the impressive natural environment of Bartolome Island or South Plazas Island, and North Seymour Island.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO EXPLORE THE GALAPAGOS ISLANDS?

Actually there is not a better or worse time to visit the Galapagos Archipelago, due to its geographic features and be right on the equator, the islands possess a great weather with an average temperature between 70°F (21°C) and 85°F (29°C) throughout the year, so it´s perfect if your wish is to explore Galapagos by a cruise ship, or if you prefer the land tour option, take in count that water temperature varies scientifically as low as 60°F (16°C) from May to November, but don’t worry, the yachts provide wetsuits.  About wildlife, what is probably the main reason to visit the islands, be relaxed, because only the Waved Albatross is a migratory specie, the another Galapagos species will be there full of life and ready to pose in front of your no flash cameras.
Galapagos high season is between November and February (Christmas and New Year´s holidays) and from June to August (summer vacations). In order to don’t miss the Galapagos experience we recommend to book your trip with GALAPER and do it at least six months before your intended travel date. Remember that the “enchanted islands” are part of an amazing journey to Ecuador that you must live it.
